Privacy and confidentiality
This work depends on trust. This page explains how I protect what you share with me, in our sessions and on this website.
Last updated: [Month Year]
Confidentiality
What you share in our sessions stays between us. I don't share it with your employer, colleagues, family or anyone else without your written permission. That includes the fact that we are working together.
Any notes I keep are brief, stored securely, and used only to support our work together.
The limits of confidentiality
As in any helping profession, there are rare situations where I may need to share information without your permission: if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, if a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk, or if the law or a court requires it. Where it is possible and safe, I will talk with you first.
About this work
My work is not medical care, psychiatric treatment or crisis support, and it does not replace care from a licensed health professional. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, please contact your local emergency services.

Who I am
This website belongs to Maria C. Tello, based in Austin, Texas, USA. I am responsible for the personal information you share through it. You can reach me through the contact form on the home page.
What I collect
When you use the contact form, I receive your name, your email address and any message you choose to write. This website does not use advertising, tracking cookies or analytics.
How I use it
I use your details only to reply to you and to arrange a consultation. If we work together, I also use them to schedule and communicate about our sessions. I never sell your information, and I won't add you to a mailing list without asking first.
Services that help run this site

These providers process information on my behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
How long I keep it
If we don't go on to work together, I delete your message within [12 months]. If we do, I keep your contact details for as long as we work together, and for any period the law requires afterward.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you. Just send a message through the contact form, and I will respond within [30 days].
Changes
If I change this policy, I will update it here and change the date at the top of the page.
